Ok, this is gonna be short for the next few days (with the exception of a tournament post before thursday morning). Sorry, I have a busy week of school. In response to that special feelnig about Long Beach State, unfortunately it's not baseball. Considering the LBS Dirtbags (self proclaimed and adapted nickname) is a very solid California College when it comes to college baseball. They're even responsible for producing Jeb Weaver (a strong candidate for last year's AL ROY) but I wouldn't bank on them in the tourny.
The Tears of Orange,
Syracuse Fans, I'm surrounded by them and for the last few days that's all I've heard. This doesn't necessarily mean I agree with the field, but please stop. I know you've had the same non-conference schedule for the last 31 years and you found a way to get in. However a lot has changed in those 31 years. First off, since your Championship in '03, you have began to lose some of those games in your weak non-con schedule. However, you got in with the automatic bid and your players playing with a passion at the end of the season that they lacked all year long. This year however, your hood rich team rested on it's laurels and didn't get the bid and didn't come through consistantly all year. Beef up that schedule or sweet the non-con games and then you can cry if you get snubbed. And stop saying you won't watch, cause you aren't fooling anyone. We know you'll watch, it's the only thing on tv for the next month.
16 over 1,
How sweet was the Albany game last year against UConn. Since it was on St. Patrick's Day I don't really remember much, but the pieces I do where amazing. Perhaps this is the year, doubtful, but if it does, let's just hope it's over UNC.
Word Association,
Georgetown - championship
GWU - flip the W and you have an M (GMU). Their spot makes this easy
Wisconsin - trouble with only Tucker and no help
Oregon - on fire from three
SIU and Butler - former cinderella's now high seeds due to be upset
Duke - could suprise if they toughen up like that stretch when they started out 7-0
Final Thought,
Anyone see that commercial on CBS tonight for the tournament. That makes me excited.
March on,
DG1
